Bio
Hello, welcome to my website! I'm Dr. Lindsay Lorayne Sailer, a Honduran postdoctoral fellow at Cornell University in Dr. Alexander Ophir's lab. My long-term research interests are understanding the mechanisms by which early life adversity can permanently alter neuroendocrine responses to environmental stressors that are experienced later in life. More specifically, I am interested in using novel integrative and in vivo techniques to examine how absent or low-quality paternal care can increase sensitivity to adult stress in male and female offspring, and to identify the role of the oxytocin and vasopressin systems throughout these enduring effects. Understanding the mechanisms of increased vulnerability to stress is significant for dissecting the differences between resilience and susceptibility to stress. I am currently supported by an F32 Postdoctoral NRSA Individual Training Grant from the National Institutes of Health.
In my free time, I enjoy listening to true-crime podcasts, long walks with my dog, gardening, learning to crochet, and cooking with my husband. Make sure to check out my blog!
